15 - 4 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted

01 - Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Break up with a spoon and cook until no longer pink, approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat as needed.
02 - Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 4 minutes.
03 - Incorporate tomato sauce, tomato paste, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper into the skillet. Stir thoroughly to blend.
04 - Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered. Stir occasionally until sauce thickens, approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
05 - While the mixture simmers, toast hamburger buns on a skillet or in the oven. Apply butter if desired.
06 - Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Cover with the top half and serve immediately.
